Story of the day...

Kai, who has been using my DSLR, sets it down with his hoodie when we take a break at the Trevi Fountain. We finish up, walk 15 minutes to the Spanish Steps, eat lunch, and start to wrap up when we realize he no longer has said camera and sweatshirt. We're sure they're gone forever, but Kai insists on going back to check at the fountain- which happens to be one of the most popular attractions in the city, with thousands of people passing through each day.

Kai takes off ahead, freaking Becky out, and I follow. Eventually, we catch up, and once we get close enough, I tell him to go ahead and look, but I'm 100% sure our stuff is gone. Two minutes later, he's running up the street, camera and hoodie in hand. He left an expensive camera and his sweatshirt for 45 minutes, in the open, on the steps of one of the busiest areas in Rome- and manages to recover them both!

While I was disappointed with the prospect of Kai losing my camera, he redeemed himself by insisting that we go back, taking the initiative to search on his own, and actually finding our stuff again...
