Rediscovering old tastes- and new ones!

When I lived in Sicily as a kid, I was able to try all kinds of different foods; one that I rediscovered yesterday was granita. It's a typical Sicilian treat kind of like a sorbet made with sugar, water, and almonds- it's also something that I could never quite explain before because I've never had it outside Sicily (I've seen stuff that's called "granita" at home, but it's usually just some kind of slushee). And it's amazing! And they eat it for breakfast! Imagine that- Ice cream that you eat for breakfast...

Tonight, Rosa and Salvo made an AMAZING seafood pasta and raw
anchovies marinated in olive oil and lemon with ingredients they picked up at the seafood market in Catania. The pasta was seriously better than any I've had in restaurants, and there were only a few ingredients! We're becoming completely spoiled...

Also becoming a habit is great homemade table wine at dinner (tonight we had white) poured from a recycled water bottle with a screwtop, and multiple espressos daily. Is that bad?
